Privacy policy

The short version

We collect what the app needs to run a group trip and nothing else. We do not sell your data. We do not run ad trackers or third party analytics.

What we collect

Account: your name, and your email or Sign in with Apple identifier. You can hide your email with Apple.

Location: your phone location, only while a trip is active, so your convoy can see you on the map.

Car data: if you link your Tesla account, we get battery, range, charging state and similar data for your car, only while a trip is active. Your Tesla tokens are stored encrypted on our server.

Trip content: trips you join or lead, chat messages, voice clips, photos you pin, and your charging and adapter details.

Device: a push notification token, so we can send you trip alerts.

Usage: simple feature counts, for example that a feature was used. They have no location and no personal details.

How we use it

To run trips, show your convoy on the map, plan charging stops, send notifications and keep the service safe. Purchases are handled by Apple, and we do not see your payment details.

Who can see it

Other people on your trip can see your name, avatar, location, battery and messages for that trip. People who are not on the trip cannot.

We use a few service providers to run the app: server hosting, Apple (sign in, notifications, purchases) and Tesla (only if you link your car). They process data only to provide those services.

How long we keep it

Live location is used for the active trip. Your account data stays until you delete your account.

Your choices

You can unlink your car at any time in the app. That deletes your Tesla tokens.

You can delete your account in the app, or ask us to do it. See the account deletion page. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data, and your messages in other people's trips stay without your name.

Children

EV Roadtrip is not meant for children under 13.
